SORA
SORA training is a 3 step process to be completed within a 30 day period. These steps include registration with the New Jersey State Police, completing a 24 hour, in-class training program with a certified SORA instructor, and fingerprinting.

SORA REQUIREMENTS

You must be at least 18 years of age

You must posses a valid photo ID with valid expiration date, i.e. Drivers License, Passport, etc.

You must register with the New Jersey State Police (NJSP), to obtain your 30 day temporary certificate. You must pay for the $75 application fee when applying. You will be assigned an application ID number that you must present to instructor so be sure to write it down. You may also register and print 30 day Temporary Certificate at our office the day of your class.

You must also be fingerprinted. You can schedule your fingerprints when you create your account with the NJSP. They will provide a link to schedule your fingerprints. You will only have 30 days to complete the process which includes your SORA class. You must pay $67.38 fingerprint processing fee at the time of your appointment.

Renewal of Security Officer Certification:
Enter the system as a "Returning Applicant".
Ninety days prior to expiration, you will be notified via email that it is time to renew. Subsequent emails are sent at 60 days and 30 days prior to expiration. Emails are sent to the email address that is listed on your personal profile. Log into the application, under the "Security Officer" tab click on "Submit Renewal." The $75 renewal must be paid using Visa, MasterCard or Discover. In addition to the renewal application, an 8 hour refresher training course provided by a SORA certified instructor must be completed prior to the expiration date. -
